Mounting Arrangements

The level of success in the isolation of shock and vibration is often defined by how the piece of equipment is mounted to the supporting structure. Choosing an appropriate mounting arrangement and correctly selecting the size and type of mounting to employ is a key service offered by the technical team at Caparo Dynamics. We are able to work closely with equipment designers and systems integrators to offer guidance and advice to ensure a suitable mounting arrangement is used.

There are a wide variety of possible mounting arrangements which can be used. They range from very simple ‘deck’ mounting, to more complex systems which require mounting in two or more planes. Mounting arrangements can also be fully suspended, where every mount in the arrangement carries a static load, or ‘steadied’ where some of the mounts used do not, and are used primarily to prevent overturn or excessive sway of the equipment during service.

The selection of an appropriate mounting arrangement can be affected by many factors, some not directly relating to shock or vibration. These include the installation, maintenance, and general access to the equipment; connections to and from the equipment; the physical size and weight of the equipment; the construction of the equipment; and constraints within the environment to which the equipment is fitted.

Using our years of experience in many fields of application, our technical team are expertly placed to help you with your mounting arrangement problems.
